Quick answers to common questions.

What is Ownsplit?

Ownsplit is a shared expense ledger for friends, roommates, travel groups, and colleagues. You log expenses, see who owes what, and settle up without spreadsheets.

Who is Ownsplit for?

Anyone who shares costs—roommates splitting rent and groceries, friends on a trip, couples, or small groups who want clear balances and simple settle-up.

How does splitting expenses work?

Create or join a group, add people, then log expenses with who paid and how the cost should be split. Ownsplit keeps running balances so everyone can see what they owe or are owed.

How do I settle up?

When you are ready to pay or get paid, use settle-up in the app to record a payment against the balance. The ledger updates so the group stays in sync.

Can I use Ownsplit with friends in different countries?

You can track shared expenses with people wherever they are. Currency support depends on what the app currently offers for your group; check in-app when creating expenses.

Which platforms is Ownsplit on?

Ownsplit is a mobile app. Public App Store and Google Play listings are coming soon; iOS testers can join via TestFlight when invited.

How does Ownsplit handle my privacy?

We process account and ledger data to provide the service. See the Privacy Policy for categories of data, retention, and your rights. You can also deactivate your account from Settings.

How do I deactivate my account?

In the app go to Settings → Deactivate profile. After 30 days without reactivation, your account is removed permanently. See Account deactivation for steps.

How can I contact support?

Email support@ownsplit.com. That is the primary way to reach us for help, feedback, and data requests. You can also use the Contact page.
