What Ownsplit is

Ownsplit is a mobile shared-expense ledger. You create or join a group, log expenses with who paid and how the cost should be split, and everyone can see running balances—who owes what—without maintaining a spreadsheet.

When you are ready to pay or get paid, settle up in the app so the ledger stays in sync with the group.

Who it is for

Ownsplit is built for informal groups: roommates splitting rent and groceries, friends on a trip, couples sharing day-to-day costs, or colleagues pooling money for a gift or outing. It is meant for people who already trust each other—not as a bank or formal accounting tool.

Balances and settle-up

Every expense updates the shared ledger. You can see what you owe others and what others owe you. Settle-up records a payment against that balance so the group does not lose track after money changes hands.
